Better late than never, as they say. Google has brought the Motion Stills App to Android users. The app, which has been available since June of 2016 on iOS, allows users to transform their Live Photos into GIFs and longer videos. One good thing about android users having to wait is that they can record new clips within the app, something the iOS app doesn't offer.
A second added feature, called “Fast Forward,” allows users to “speed up and condense” up to 60 seconds of video into a shorter clip, complete with video stabilization. Users can change the playback speed (from 1x to 8x) after recording a clip.
Motion Stills is available to download for free on Google Play. Google encouraged users to share their creations on social media using the hashtag #motionstills.
Apple users have been eagerly awaiting the newest iOS software update, as it always brings some fresh and fun items with it. The newest update will feature some brand new emojis to spice up your text conversations.
The new emojis will reportedly include such things as dinosaurs, sandwiches and coconuts, but they will also include emojis that are way more progressive. The new update is said to include a woman breastfeeding and a woman wearing a hijab/headscarf.
In 2015, Apple unveiled different skin tones for their human-like emojis, after receiving backlash for a lack of diversity in the text message enhancers.
Netflix says it added more US customers in the last quarter than it has since 2011. The company is now up to 103.95 million subscribers worldwide, up 5.2 million from last count.
The company has also topped 50 million paying customers in the US alone, and anticipates "the first ever annual contribution profit from our international segment" in Q3. Overall it's rosy news for the streaming service, which plans to debut 40 movies this year.
