Say what you will about the music of Chance the Rapper, but you can not question his heart. Fresh off of meeting with Illinois Governor Bruce Rauner about the state of Chicago Public Schools, Chance is letting his actions speak even louder than his words. He announced today (March 6) that he will donate $1 million to the Chicago Public School Foundation.
Rauner and Chance met Friday to discuss CPS funding after the artist asked for a sit-down, however, Chance says the meeting didn't go as planned and Rauner left him with "vague answers."
The Chicago native rapper, whose real name is Chancellor Bennett, made the announcement at a local area school after giving a preview on his personal Instagram page.
