Legendary rap group N.W.A. will be heading to Washington D.C. by way of the Library of Congress. The California natives first album, Straight Outta Compton, will be preserved in the Library of Congress’ National Recording Registry.
The group's music is being added mostly because of the cultural and historic nature of the album. Featuring songs like "Express Yourself," "F*ck The Police" and the title track "Straight Outta Compton," the album was a showcase of inner-city life in the late 1980's. Their songs touch on many hot button issues like police brutality and a corrupt criminal justice system, topics that are still relevant today.
Straight Outta Compton will be joining 475 other various recordings currently being preserved at the Library of Congress.
