Verizon is shutting down its Go90 video app less than three years after its launch.
Verizon is shifting distribution of Go90’s shows to Oath’s well-established digital media brands, which include Yahoo and the Huffington Post.
The Go90 app, stocked with a mix of short-form original entertainment, live sports and licensed TV shows, was never able to attract any kind of sizable audience and as a result struggled to book advertising dollars.
The service was one of the first steps by CEO Lowell McAdam to find revenue outside its mature wireless phone service.
Instagram has a new feature that its users are bound to love. The social media platform announced that it would be adding a feature that allows users to include music in their Instagram Stories on June 28.
Instagram now features a library of songs users can search and pick from. Users can select a song by clicking on the “tap to add” sticker to a photo or video in the Stories section. There, they will find a browser for music, which they can search by song, artist, or mood. “We have a growing library of songs on Instagram, and you can search for a specific song, browse by mood, genre or what’s popular,” the official announcement states. “When you’ve selected your song, you can fast-forward and rewind through the track to choose the exact part that fits your story.”
You can also choose a song before capturing a video by selecting “new music” once the camera in IG Stories is opened. Once selecting the right song, you can assign it as background for the visual. Friends and followers will watch the video and the song playing upon viewing. They’ll also see the song credits in case they want to add it to their music library.

Last season in the NFL, we learned about allegations of sexual and racial misconduct against then owner of the Carolina Panthers Jerry Richardson. After a lengthy investigation, Richardson stepped away from the team, leading to it's eventual sale. Now the NFL is finally responding to the investigation and allegations by fining the former owner $2.75 million.
U.S. Attorney and SEC Chairman Mary Jo White conducted the investigation, which substantiated “claims that have been made, and identified no information that would either discredit the claims made or that would undermine the veracity of the employees who have made those claims,” the NFL said.
A Sports Illustrated article revealed that at least four employees received “significant” monetary settlements due to Richardson’s “inappropriate workplace comments and conduct.” After the story broke, Richardson announced plans to sell the Panthers and stepped back from day-to-day operations.
Last month, league owners approved a potential sale to billionaire businessman David Tepper. The transaction is expected to close over the next two weeks.
Much of the $2.75 million fine will go to various organizations fighting race and gender-based issues in the workplace and beyond.
Jury Awards Family Of Quintonio LeGrier $1.05 Million In Wrongful Death Case, Judge Then Reverses $1.05M Jury Award
A jury in a Cook County court came to the conclusion that Chicago Police Officer Robert Rialmo was wrong in his actions that led to the death of Quintonio LeGrier on December 26. 2015. They awarded the family of LeGrier $1.05 million, which included $50,000 for LeGrier’s pain and suffering.
Just 15 minutes after the verdict was handed down, the trial judge reversed that decision. The reason for the reversal was because jurors indicated in a "special interrogatory" they believed Chicago Police Officer Robert Rialmo feared for his life at the time of the shooting.
With the judge's decision Wednesday, LeGrier's family gets nothing.

In one of the most sweeping changes since the introduction of the Grammy Awards in 1959, the number of nominations in the record, song and album of the year, as well as the best new artist category, will expand from five to eight.
The changes will take place effective immediately for the 61st Grammy Awards set for 2019 in Los Angeles.
The move is intended to broaden the kinds of artists it recognizes and one that could result in more female, country and rock musicians up for high-profile prizes.
In other changes, music supervisors will be considered nominees in the Best Compilation Soundtrack Album category (although they will no longer be eligible for consideration as album producers, unless they produced at least 51 percent of the album in question), and nominations for the World Music Field will now be determined through its own Nominations Review Committee.
