We are discussing the latest hot topics, and speaking to Assistant Jr. Pastor Tilden Dunn about getting our youth back into the church!
In a blog post Wednesday, Facebook chief privacy officer Erin Egan and deputy general counsel Ashlie Beringer announced several data settings the company believes will help users better understand what data is being collected and how Facebook users can be a bit more in control of the data they put into the Facebook engine.
“It’s time to make our privacy tools easier to find,” Facebook officials said in a post Wednesday detailing the changes, which are unlikely to satisfy critics who want major reforms in the way the social media giant handles the data of its more than 2 billion users. The tweaks come a week and a half after the revelation that the Donald Trump-aligned political data firm Cambridge Analytica had obtained information on about 50 million U.S. users before the 2016 election.
The updates, which Facebook said will roll out over the next few weeks, include a new section called “Access Your Information” to provide a simpler way for users to find and delete posts or personal profile info. In addition, Facebook said, users will be able to more easily manage information the company uses to serve targeted advertising.
Facebook’s battered shares, which have dropped 17 percent in the past week and a half amid the Cambridge Analytica scandal, got off to a strong start Wednesday morning after the company announced the changes. In the first hour of trading, the stock rose more than 2 percent and reached its intraday high of $155.78 a share. Additionally, Playboy is officially pulling out of Facebook, announcing in a statement Wednesday its pages would be removed from the social media platform over its handling of user data.

Twitter: @TRavDaChamp Instagram: @travdachap88 An experienced hunter and a rookie FBI agent work together to unravel events which lead to a teenager's death during Wyoming's winter season. This chilling neo-Western from writer/director Taylor Sheridan leaves you informed and captivated at the conclusion of its 111 minute run time. While surveying the Wind River Indian Reservation for mountain lions, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service agent Cory Lambert (Jeremy Renner) discovers the frozen body of 18-year-old Natalie Hanson. The investigation is stalled until the arrival of rookie FBI special agent Jane Banner (Elizabeth Olsen). Despite evidence of blunt force trauma and rape, the local medical examiner refuses to rule the cause of death as homicide which leaves Jane and Cory to solve the case without any additional help from the FBI. Upon notifying the parents of the deceased, they learn Natalie recently started dating an older man.
Their investigation leads them to the trailer of Natalie's brother Chip, along with his junkie friends. Shortly after, a male body is discovered nude in the frozen snow. Cory learns from Chip the name of Natalie's boyfriend, Matt, who happens to work security at the nearby oil drilling station.
Jane, Tribal Police Chief Ben Shoyo (Graham Greene) and additional officers visit the drill site where things quickly escalate with the security guards over who has jurisdictions among the reservation. A flashback shows Natalie Hanson (Kelsey Asbille) and Matt Rayburn (Jon Bernthal) cuddling in bed before being interrupted by his security colleagues, notably a drunk and vulgar Pete Mickens (James Jordan). Without giving too much away, Natalie escapes the trailer while Matt holds off his co-workers. Back in the present time, a firefight ensues which leads to the deaths of Ben, the other officers and most of the security guards. Pete flees on foot but Cory catches up to him and takes him to the top of a mountain where he confesses. Rather than kill him, Cory offers Pete the same choice he gave Natalie, a barefoot escape which ends in death from pulmonary hemmorhage. Cory informs Martin the case is closed after the man responsible went out "with a whimper." At the conclusion of the film, a title card states missing-persons statistics are compiled for every other demographic while none exist for Native American women as their numbers remain unknown. 5/5 Stars - Extremely Recommended PS: I rated this movie so high as it's a gripping tale of the harshness of life as well as informative. As a nerd, I can't help but point out the MARVEL connection since Jeremy Renner & Elizabeth Olsen play Hawkeye & Scarlet Witch in the Marvel Cinematic Universe while Jon Bernthal portrays The Punisher on the self-titled Netflix series as well as Daredevil.
One of the biggest and most anticipated music festivals of the year is returning to Brooklyn this summer. The Afropunk Fest will take place at Brooklyn's Commodore Barry Park in Fort Greene on August 25 and 26. On Tuesday (March 27), Afropunk Fest unveiled the Brooklyn edition of the festival will be headlined by Erykah Badu, Janelle Monae and Tyler the Creator.
In addition to Badu, Monae, and Tyler the Creator, Afropunk recruited the likes of Miguel, The Internet, H.E.R., Daniel Caesar, Jessie Reyez, Smino, and Jaden and Willow Smith to help round out the impressive bill.
This year's theme is The People Resist, which "brings together AFROPUNK ideology and the people who support it, in resistance to those that strive to opress." Afropunk has not only seen success in the states, but has expanded to international markets including Paris, London, and Johannesburg. Afropunk has introduced a new ticketing system called Buy One, Give One (BOGO) in which each general admission ticket purchased will allow a New York City youth, who has been participating in art programs like Recess Art and Young New Yorkers, the opportunity to attend the festival. Afropunk has also announced its Atlanta lineup, which takes place on October 13 and 14. So far, N.E.R.D, Noname, Little Simz, Kari Faux are set to hit the stage, with more names to be announced later this year.
