One of the greatest things about sports is it brings people together. I doesn't matter if it's baseball, football, soccer or professional wrestling, when different people come together to enjoy a sport, something magical happens. Often times that magic leads to barriers being broken and history being made, this was the case during the WWE recent tour stop in Abu Dhabi. For the first time ever, the fans were treated to a live women's wrestling match.
Last year when the WWE toured Abu Dhabi and the rest of the Middle East, women wrestlers were not allowed to compete in the ring. On Thursday (Dec. 7), that all changed as fans in Abu Dhabi got to see "The Boss" Sasha Banks take on "The Goddess" Alexa Bliss in the first women's wrestling match in the region. While the look of the match was a little different that what we are used to seeing, both competitors wore full bodysuits instead of their usually ring gear, the action and excitement was clearly there as both women received huge pops when their music hit.
After the match backstage, Sasha Banks was overcome with emotions and cut a great promo on what the moment meant to her.
