The PPV opened with Ian Riccaboni and BJ Whitmer discussing the main events for tonight.
ROH champion Cody Rhodes came out and said that a number of people in the company stopped him and thanked him, because this weekend is the highest grossing tour in ROH history. He said he had to address a Tweet from earlier today. He didn’t say who the Tweet was from, but this was it:
Rhodes said that Reigns (never mentioning him by name) must wear a tactical vest to hide drug test failures. He said that what they were wasn’t indy wrestling, it was a club and everyone was in Bullet Club. He said someone was going to kiss his ring tonight. He wanted it to be Cary Silkin, but Cary, man of distinction, turned down that opportunity. Cody instead picked a fan and said they were filming for Being the Elite and brought him into the ring. They posed for a selfie but the fan, who was wearing a mask, ripped it off to reveal Dalton Castle and he laid out Rhodes. The crowd loved this and chanted for Dalton.
Match One: Silas Young & Beer City Bruiser vs. Best Friends
Bruiser nailed Taylor with his keg of beer as he rebouned off the ropes and Young nailed him with Misery for the pin.
Winner: Silas Young & Beer City Bruiser
Match Two: Marty Scurll vs. Hiromu Takahashi
Scurll nailed a superkick and a big lariat. They went back and forth until Scurll locked in the chickenwing and scored the submission.
Winner: Marty Scurll
Match Three: KUSHIDA & Cheeseburger vs. The Addiction
KUSHIDA grabbed a hover board (from Back to the Future) and came off with a high cross bodyblock off the top for a two count on Kazarian. KUSHIDA began unloaded with kicks. KUSHIDA went for a handspring elbow and was caughtg with a lung blower. They nailed Celebrity Rehab on KUSHIDA and….the feed froze.
Winners: The Addiction
When the stream returned, the Addiction was trying to put Cheeseburger through a table when Bully Ray hit the ring and chokeslammed Kazarian through the table. We are told the feed dying was due to a power outage in the production truck in Chicago.
Ray said that in this very building in 1999, he and D-Von set a table on fire and put someone through it. He said that as most of the fans know, it’s “about that time for him.” The crowd booed and chanted “No.” He said for the first time, he has to think of himself first. The fans chanted for him. Ray soaked in the chants, took off his baseball cap and just acknowledged the crowd. The fans chanted “Thank you Bully” and “Thank you Bubba.” Ray said that it doesn’t get any better than that and thanked the fans.
Ray said that he doesn’t think fans understand. He’s been asked since he began his career where were his favorite places to wrestle. He said Chicago was in the top. Ray took a broken piece of table and called a kid into the ring to receive it. He said that the boy represents every fan that he has been in front of in his whole life. Ray said it’s really hard to thank every single person, so he’s going to represent every single person in the world tonight. Ray told him “Thank you” and hugged the kid.
Ray said this is the last table he will be breaking and asked the kid to hold up the piece of it high. The kid did and then returned to the crowd. Ray apologized if he took up too much of anyone’s time. He said he knew ROH was always a place where he would do well and said that if this is the last time he’s here, he wants to than God for being able to step into a Ring of Honor ring.
Match Four: ROH champion Cody Rhodes & Young Bucks & Adam Page vs. ROH Tag Team champions The Motor City Machine Guns & Jay White & Jonathan Gresham
Cody hit the ring and nailed CrossRhodes. Everyone hit the ring and hit big spot after big spot. Machine Guns whipped out the Dream Sequence. They turned it into a sequence where everyone from BC got their opponents in Sharpshooters but Jay White had Cody in one. The others dropped their moves and hit a triple superkick, allowing Cody to join them as all four locked in the moves. Bullet Club wiped out everyone, leaving Gresham alone in a four on one.
Gresham fought valiantly and even told them to “suck it”, leading to him being wiped out and hit with the Rite of Passage by Page for the pin.
Winners: Bullet Club
Match Five: One Mean Team (with Miss Jasmin) vs. The Dawgs
The Dawgs are Rhett Titus and Will Ferrara doing a gimmick where Rhett is the big dog and Ferrara is the smaller one who gets used as an offensive weapon. This was about spotlighting them and even teasing perhaps they aren’t really on the same page. They had some great double team moves, almost Midnight Express-like in terms of unique offense.
Winner: The Dawgs!
After the match, Jay Briscoe hit the ring and beat the hell out of One Mean Team. Jay took the mic and said he was here to address one person – his brother Mark. He said that he told him they needed to get back to “doing what they do” and being the best tag team on the planet. He said Mark has been worrying about singles matches and titles and six man tag team titles and all it got him was sitting home with a busted elbow. He told Mark to ice the elbow and come back quick because it’s time for the Briscoes to “take this sh** over.”
Match Six: Jay Lethal, Shane Taylor & Kenny King vs. Minoru Suzuki and The Killer Elite Squad
Taylor drilled Suzuki with several forearms but Suzuki caught him with the choke. He failed to get the Gotch piledriver again but escaped a DVDR. Taylor was choked out and nailed with the piledriver and pinned.
Winner: Minoru Suzuki & The Killer Elite Squad
Suzuki attacked referee Paul Turner and tossed him out of the ring. Suzuki took the mic to put his team over.
Match Seven: Colt Cabana vs. Toru Yano
They did a comedy deal where they shoved the referee back and forth to each other unti he was finally knocked down. Cabana went to help the referee but Yano low blowed him. Yano tied up Cabana’s arms and went to hit him with another buckle. Cabana nailed an elbow and used a pinfall combination to score the pin.
Winner: Colt Cabana
Match Eight: Will Ospreay vs. Flip Gordon
Ospreay cut him off and draped him across the top rope, then hit a standing shooting star press for a two count. They went back and forth until Ospreay hit the Ozcutter for the pin.
Winner: Will Ospreay
Main Event: IWGP United States champion Kenny Omega vs. YOSHI-HASHI
They began slugging it out. Finally, Omega tossed HASHI into the Bucks, then tossed him into CHAOS’ boots. He nailed the One Winged Angel but HASHI kicked out. Omega nailed another but Toru Yano pulled the referee out. Beretta hit the ring and nailed the Dudebuseter on Omega. This led to everyone hitting all their big moves on everyone else. It all ended with Ospreay hitting a shooting star off the top on everyone on the floor, then Nick Jackson hitting a springboard 450 splash through a table on Flip Gordon.
HASHI went for a swanton but Omega put his knees up. He nailed a shining wizard and nailed the One Winged Angel for the pin.
Winner and still IWGP United States champion: Kenny Omega
After the match, they were looking to do a Bullet Club selfie but none of them had brought a camera. Then, they “realized” Jimmy Jacobs was in the crowd and they all went to ringside to take the selfie. Nick Jackson then took the mic and said, “Sorry we got your a** fired Jimmy!” The announcers played this up as if they were shocked Jacobs was there and hinted he could be back.
