In addition to the split, Hudson has been granted an order of protection against Otunga. TMZ has a report out detailing new revelations from the protective order filed by Jennifer Hudson against David Otunga.

  • In the protective order Hudson claims the Otunga has been making, “aggressive, threatening and harassing behavior toward me”
    • She also says that she is, ” living in fear of further action David might take.”
  • Hudson claims that Otunga encouraged their son, David Jr, to take photos of her at a Wednesday recording session in order to try to prove she was dating one of the producers
  • Hudson claims that when she returned home from the recording studio Otunga was angry, grabbed their son by his hand and pushed Hudson out of the master suite
    • Hudson claims their son, makeup artist and assistant all witnessed the incident
  • Hudson claims that Otunga has been showing a pattern of escalating and threatening behavior
  • Hudson claims that Otunga would leave a holstered gun, that he said was a movie prop, on the kitchen counter that was intended to intimidate her because of her uncomfortableness with guns
    • Hudson’s mother and brother were murdered in a shooting
  • Hudson’s protective order was granted and police removed their son from Otunga’s custody
    • The order also grants Hudson exclusive possession of their residence and Otunga has been ordered to stay away
  • Hudson has filed a petition with the judge to grant her “signifant decision-making responsibilities” in regards to their son
  • Otunga did not show up in court when Hudson got the protective order and is claiming that she is making all of this up in order to gain leverage in their custody dispute

Warning ahead of time- Spoilers WILL be dropped here. So if you haven’t seen or read what happened, this is your ONLY warning.

Oh, Shimmer… you arrive so quickly, and leave even quicker. In the blink of an eye, 4 (yes…4) shows occur in a 29 hour window that takes every bit of energy every single person in the building has. Every wrestler, every crew member, every fan, everyone. It’s a weird feeling to tell someone you’re going to 4 shows in a weekend (I’m not including Rise in this, but I mean absolutely no disrespect to them, it just doesn’t fit into the time frame like Shimmer has), and realize it happens in barely a day+. And yet, here we are, coming off of yet another chaotic weekend where the landscape of the company shifted drastically in a matter of hours.

Going into the weekend, Mercedes Martinez had a stranglehold on her Shimmer Championship, had a badass crew behind her, and was on top of the world. As did Mt. Tessa, the tag team champions. Though they didn’t get along, they got along just enough to keep their tag belts around their waists. And Heart of Shimmer Champion Shazza McKenzie was still enjoying her title she earned in July by beating Nicole Savoy. Little did anyone know how much would change in the blink of an eye.

By the end of day 1, the tag champs fell. By the end of day 2, one half of the tag team was effectively dead at the hand of the other half. With as much verbal abuse that Tessa gave Kraven, and with the fans getting behind Kraven because of it, it was a wonder how they managed to get along as long as they did. But, once Tessa hit Kraven with the Magnum at the wrong point, everything changed. Suddenly, the belts were gone. And suddenly, Mount Tessa was gone. By the end of Day 2, Tessa was gone, thanks to a lumberjill match that proved to everyone a mountain could fly, as Kraven came off the top rope to take out almost everyone. In the end, like she usually does, being so damn big, Kraven stood tall, and for at least one time, Tessa finally got what she had coming to her.

And then… there was trifecta. It took one comment. One small, seemingly passable comment, to start the downfall of the group. With Shayna Baszler gone, Trifecta was down to Bifecta. But, as they announced their new member, Aja freaking Kong, Trifecta seemed bigger and badder than ever, with Mercedes holding the belt, and a bigger badass behind her. But one thing ate away at someone. Mercedes called Aja the new number 2 of the group, relegating Nicole Savoy to #3. Who would’ve thought something like that would rip a group apart. And when Savoy refused to attack a downed Hikaru Shida and attack her knee, a position Savoy was all too familiar with, it was settled. Trifecta was back to 2 members, and only one original member.

Mercedes felt Savoy needed to learn her place, being #3. Savoy felt she could be #1. The crowd, who almost ruthlessly jeered Savoy since her debut, suddenly changed. Everything changed. The crowd got behind the new #1 (in theory) to the point that when Lexie Fyfe chewed out Andy Long as the worst ref she’d ever seen (to one of the biggest reactions of the weekend), and announced Mercedes would finish the weekend facing her former stablemate for her title, the crowd was foaming at the mouth for Savoy to pull off the big one. And in a shocking turn of events, at the end of volume 99, at the end of the weekend… the crowd got what they wanted. Nicole Savoy had beaten the champ to claim the belt as her own and to become the true #1.

It wasn’t even just those. It was Rosemary and Chelsea Green finishing off 8 consecutive days of wrestling for Impact and Shimmer. It was the sold out crowd on Saturday. It was Leva Bates, in her 4th attempt, FINALLY laying claim to the Shimmer tag team titles. It was the return of Aja freaking Kong. It was the return of the Joshis. It was Delilah Doom becoming the first Rise/Shimmer double champ. It was Sienna getting split open 5 minutes into a title match to the point it had to be stopped, only for her to come back later doing her best Terry Funk impression. It was Andy Freaking Long doing his best to be fired by Shimmer brass, and still somehow keeping his job.

It was all of that… in less than 30 hours

Can The WWE Be The King Of Trios?

11/15/2017

Every year, Chikara Pro Wrestling has one of the biggest tournaments in pro wrestling, with their King of Trios tournament. 24 groups of 3 people from around the world battle for the right to be the champion. It’s one of the most prestigious tournaments in US Indie wrestling, alongside the Battle of Los Angeles, and lately, the Jim Lynam Memorial Tournament. But, given the current landscape of pro wrestling, and one company, in particular, could the idea be moved to the biggest fish in the pond?

Lately, the WWE has been weird. Like, really weird. Ever since the somewhat letdown that was WWE No Mercy, and the clusterf^%k that led to major changes at WWE TLC, the build to Survivor Series has been interesting. In the last couple of weeks, the entire Survivor Series card has been tossed around, leading to a massively stacked card for the #4 PPV of the year. Add to that the knowledge that WWE will use WAR GAMES for the first time in company history, WWE is in an interesting spot.

Gone are the days that WWE won’t use an idea that isn’t theirs. You never got War Games. Instead, you’ll get Elimination Chamber and you’ll like it. You want Russo back? You get a guitar on a pole and you’ll like it. But now, WCW is seeping into the cracks, and so are the indies with the WWE’s constant building of their massive roster.

This leaves the idea of one huge thing… Could the WWE actually pull off their own version of the King of Trios? Obviously, yes, this is a Chikara idea, no doubt. I’m not taking their idea away from them at all, it’s theirs. But, given the landscape of the WWE over the past 6-8 months, is it so out there to think this is possible? Given the shape of the roster since Summerslam, especially, but even before it, the WWE has been grouping their wrestlers into groups of 3 and 4 that leaves this idea open to some.

New Day, Shield, Sanity, Undisputed Era, Miztourage, British Strong Style, Titus Worldwide, Jinder and Singh Bros., some sort of Balor Club, Authors of Pain and Roderick Strong (just go with it, I know what’ll happen on Saturday), this is just a chunk of the groups you could put into a single elimination tournament over 2 or 3 nights. The question becomes just how many teams do you use?

If you do 16, how do you split them? If you do 12, which teams get a bye? The reason Chikara is able to pull off 24 is because of their ability to work with multiple companies who send a team, and then they have 3 nights. And even with that, teams will have to wrestle multiple times on the final day of the tournament, no matter what. WWE would obviously not be as willing to do something like this and would have to stay within their umbrella. Sure, they could get an extra Progress team outside of BSS, and get a team from ICW, but there are not many more people they’d talk to, unless they allowed a women’s team, for some odd reason (then they can talk to Shimmer, or get Trifecta as a team)

Obviously, this is super unlikely that it will happen. It’d be a strange idea to them, plus would require they use all 3 brands, plus outside companies. It’s a total unknown to the WWE. But, it’s not an impossible idea. Plus hey, if it leads Shield vs. Wyatts again, or Shield vs. New Day again (if the first one is good), then why not take the chance?

Over the last month or so, there has been a major war of words between future WWE Hall of Famer Chris Jericho and the IWGP US Champion, and Bullet Club member, Kenny Omega. The feud seemed to settle down last week but early this morning (Nov. 5) the feud was put on a fast track. At this morning’s Power Struggle event, Chris Jericho challenged Kenny Omega to an IWGP United States Heavyweight Championship Match at Wrestle Kingdom.

Apparently, Y2J and Omega will settle their beef at Wrestle Kingdom 12 in Tokyo, Japan on January 4, 2018.  Jericho last wrestled in the WWE this summer in a triple threat US Championship match on SmackDown Live versus Kevin Owens and AJ Styles. He is currently on a break from WWE to tour with his band Fozzy.

As for Y2J's contract status with the WWE, I believe he is or will soon be a free agent, however it is rumored that the WWE wanted to use him as Roman Reigns replacement at TLC before going with Kurt Angle.

See ya there @kennyomegamanx.... #Jan4 #TokyoDome #AlphaVsOmega
