It's been a great year for Jordan Peele. He welcomed his first child with his wife, actress Chelsea Peretti, he has created and produce a new TV show called The Last O.G., and he wrote, directed and produced the feature film Get Out. Now, a few month after the film's debut, Get Out is officially the most profitable movie of 2017.
According to The Wrap, Get Out made $217 million in profits along with a 630 percent return on investment. Get Out earned $250 million worldwide. Peele’s film about being a black man in America cost $4.5 million to make with an estimated $30 million in marketing.
Get Out also still boasts a 99% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, along with having the honor of being the highest grossing original screenplay, a title which formally belonged to The Blair Witch project.
Since the success of Get Out, Universal Pictures has inked a two year deal with Jordan Peele and has already announced a follow-up film which will have a much higher budget than $4.5 million.
